Embark on an unforgettable journey to one of the most impressive Mayan sites that ever existed, Tikal. An hour-and-a-half drive after the Belize-Guatemala border leads you to the Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Led by our expert guide, fluent in English, set out on a comprehensive 4-hour exploration of this incredible site. Tikal's grandeur unfolds before your eyes, with temples towering over the forest canopy, expansive plazas, regal palaces, and intricately carved stelae that illustrate the dynastic history of the city and its relationships with other sites as far away as Calakmul in Mexico, Copan in Honduras or Caracol in Belize.
Beyond the archaeological wonders, the national park is also home to an array of wildlife. You may encounter howler monkeys, spider monkeys, and coatis and as well as a wide selection of bird species from vibrant parrots, and toucans. After an enriching tour, we indulge in a delectable lunch at a local restaurant, with vegan and vegetarian options available, included in your tour package, before heading back to San Ignacio Town.
